This Morning In The Garden

Before the kids left Nova planted Moss Rose in the pots that they had painted and today I placed them on the shelf by the shed.
The Hibiscus is in bloom and surprisingly standing pretty erect.
Nova cut some flowers.
Then it rained.

Cosmosphere

Today, me Tara, Nova and the boys went to the Kansas Cosmosphere in Hutchinson. We toured the museum which is excellent, we viewed a movie about the Hubble telescope in the IMAX theater, watched the planetarium show and history and a demonstration show on the rocket. The few pics below don’t even begin to do the place justice.

Before leaving Hutch we stopped at El Potrillio for lunch.

Painting Clay Pots

This morning after breakfast on the patio the Grandkids painted clay pots for the garden.

While going through the shed looking for pots to paint I found the first one below that our Daughter painted when she was a kid. The second one she painted while here.

Fathers Day

This morning for Fathers Day, Mom & Dad came over for a breakfast of a breakfast casserole and coffee cake which Tara prepared. Dad and I both received nice cards from the kids and I also got a nice framed photo of Tara. Dad, I and the boys went for a bike ride. Later everyone stopped just long enough to pose for this family photo.

Tonight we had a “Mexican Fiesta” at supper. Fajitas, Mexican rice, chips, salsa, guacamole and sombreros. We listened to the Gypsy Kings as we ate.

The Kids First Visit

A week ago, after a year and a half in Alaska, Tara and the 3 Grandkids returned to Kansas to visit and are staying with us for 3 weeks.
The first night here Blake learned to ride a bike! In addition to bike riding some of the other things they’ve done so far are swimming, shopping and the Mayor’s Family Bike Day.

Tonight we had supper and an “Ice Cream Social” at Great Grandma & Grandpas…
