The weekend prior to Christmas we got together with Mom, Dad, Tara and Glen. I forgot to get any photos. Christmas day we had dinner with Mom and Dad.

Red Robin’s New Veggie Burger
Red Robin recently replaced the Boca and Garden brand burgers they offered with a veggie burger of their own. Made with quinoa and ancient grains. We both thought it was good.
Barbacoa Cauliflower Tacos At BJ’s
New since the last time we visited BJ’s Brewhouse are these barbacoa cauliflower tacos. We ordered them sans dairy. Really good. So is their Octoberfest.
Packaged Vegan Bacons
Lunch at my parents was BLTs. I had 2 sandwiches each using a different brand of faux bacon. Lightlife and Sweet Earth brands. Both were pretty good. Don’t know that I preferred one over the other.
Fried Avocado Tacos At Uno Mas
Fried avocado tacos sans cheese. Didn’t think about the sauce being dairy based which it was. Should have asked. They were pretty good but it was the sauce that made them.
Supreme Pizza
I decided to try the vegan sausage I’ve been making recently on pizza. It was really good. I use the recipe here minus the tarragon and with the addition of 1 tsp of sage. I form in to patties, brown the patties and break it up in to crumbles. Store bought crust and Daiya mozzarella.

Simple Truth Vegan Almond Dessert
When the Simple Truth brand of a non-dairy ice cream showed up at our local grocery store, I bought the Sea Salt Caramel flavor which I wasn’t impressed with. I didn’t see or taste any caramel and it was way to sweet.
I later tried the Chocolate flavor which I did like. Pictured above with walnuts I added.

Boca Spicy Chik’n patty with Daiya cheddar. Just so-so.
Breyer’s non-dairy Peanut butter Swirl ice cream. Pretty good.
This ooey gooey mess is Light Life veggie turkey slices, Daiya cheddar, Vegenaise and spinach on rye pumpernickel bread. The veggie slices were just ok.
Miyoko’s Chao
Our first time trying Miyoko’s Chao vegan cheese. This was the Aged English Smoked Farmhouse. I though it was really good but it was too smoky for Nova.
