Saturday we headed into a 21mph wind and made our way to the casino. We’re not really that into gambling and we’ll just make minimum bets on the penny and quarter machines to humor ourselves. We also enjoy beverages, food and people watching while there. On this day it was free toaster day. Many people were carrying around toasters that they somehow received. It seems they are always giving away something like this but I’m not sure how it works. We probably don’t spend enough to get in on the freebies. I wonder how many of these people need a new toaster. Will they throw their perfectly good old one out or wIll they try and sell the new one?
On the ride back home we had a 26mph tailwind. In a ditch alongside the road there was bag of trash along with these 2 20″ tires someone had dumped that I couldn’t resist bringing home. The bag of trash was busted open otherwise I would have tried to bring it home too.
Sunday was a Coaster’s Cruise. This was a somewhat impromptu ride with the bike club. For Nova and I the majority of the riding is going to and from the meetup spot which is about 11 miles from home. The group ride itself I estimate was about 6 miles.
It was nice to see our young friend on the swing bike I had just given him. As per usual the group ride ended at a bar for beverages and conversation. It was a nice ride and a nice day weatherwise. So nice that I wore shorts.
