I had some bikes I decided to let go of and had planned to sell at the upcoming swap meet but I guess I’ve been in a generous mood as of late and gave a few of them away.
A friend has been on me to sell him this Stingray ever since he found out I had it. It’s been kind of a running joke for years. Recently money became a topic of discussion on a group ride and when he told me I could supplement my retirement by selling him the Stingray, I surprised him by telling him he could just have it. He’s a good guy and contributor to the classic bike scene here, putting on and helping with events.
The swing bike, bronco bike and little fatbike I gave to a teenage kid who participates in some of our rides. I also gave him a few extra parts. I’m glad to see a kid his age having an interest in bikes. The first 2 bikes were disassembled and I like that he’ll have to put them back together.
Gifting these bikes made me much happier than selling them would have. I think that just leaves me with one bike to sell at the swap… unless I give it away between now and then.
