The New Departure coaster brake hub on my old Western Flyer has never worked properly since I acquired the bike so I hadn’t ridden it in some time. It would slip/not engage on occasion. In a hurry last night I tore it apart gave it a quick cleaning, greased and reassembled. I rode the bike to my parents this morning and to my surprise, despite the quick and sloppy job I did rebuilding it, it did fix the problem.
