30 Days Of Biking – Days 1 – 10

I didn’t set out to participate in this year’s 30 Days Of Biking Challenge but several days into the month I realized I had biked every day so far so I thought I’d go for it and document it. Below are days 1 – 10.

04-01 An evening ride to a school parking lot to give my new skate board a try. I’ve never ridden a skateboard before that I recall.

04-02 Another ride to skate. There’s a couple of schools nearby that have pretty smooth sidewalks and parking lots. I half expect someone to come and run me off though.

04-03 We rode into the city for a picnic lunch. On the way home we stopped at the above spot to take a break from the wind.

04-04 Morning ride to my parents for breakfast. I’m temporarily eating a special diet so I brought my own breakfast of rice cakes and peanut butter. In the afternoon we went for a c-store coffee.

04-05 A solo ride for a c-store coffee which I drank while I played around in the woods out of the wind.

04-06 Afternoon errand in town. Evening ride to skate board.

04-07 A solo ride to under a bridge out of the wind to brew up a coffee.

Solo ride to some singletrack in the woods. Then rode to a grocery store for something to eat and returned to the woods to eat it and ride some more before returning home.

Out making a video for a pedal I’m reviewing. We stopped at the store for coffee and to pick up some lunch which we consumed at the same spot I had lunch yesterday. Our timing was great as we had a 10mph headwind on our way out and a 30mph tailwind as we came home. We also just beat the rain.

04-10 Short ride to the post office. It was just too windy to go any further or stay out any longer.

So I’m a third of the way there. I’ve spent the majority of these first 10 days finding ways to ride while trying to avoid the ridiculous wind we’ve been having which has typically been between 20 and 30mph. Hoping for some less windy days the rest of the month. Nova is more inclined to join me when it’s not so windy.
