Coffeeneuring Challenge 2019 – Coffee 1

For a theme this year I’m trying for Coffee On The Cheap. I may also try to ride a different bike each time again. More info on the Coffeeneuring Challenge here.

  • Date: 10-12-2019
  • Location: Starbucks in the grocery store.
  • Coffee: Cold brew with soy milk.
  • Miles: 23
  • Bike: Dumpster bike.
  • Details:  The woman who served us recognized our last name and said she had went to school with our Daughter. Also found out She is a para teacher and knew our Granddaughter from when our Granddaughter was in elementary school. Coffee was good as always. I brought my own cup which made my coffee cheaper.

After coffee we rode farther to eat lunch. After lunch we went to another grocery store and picked up a few items. While there we bumped into a friend and fellow bike rider and had a nice brief chat. Shortly after while still in the store a man approached us and asked if that was our Salsa parked out front. It was Nova’s. I guess it was the bright jackets, backpack and messenger bag that gave us away as cyclists? He commented how he liked her bike and that he also rode a bike and told us a little about his. One of a few things we picked up at the store were coffee beans that were on sale for $4.79. We needed coffee at home and I’ll probably use these for a coffee outside Coffeeneuring ride.

The ride home was miserable. The wind was 25 mph and coming from our house. At times I contemplated walking, thinking we might cover ground faster. We stopped once for a break and me 2 other times to pick up a pair of gloves and a fluorescent green t-shirt off the side of the road. On the way to coffee I had found a little beaver plushy.

  1. I twas about to do my Coffeneuring blog entry when I found yours! Nice theme btw. Windy here in Iowa as well.

  2. Having done the ‘neuring’ challenge at least 5 times now, I decided to skip it this year. But now may be regretting that! You make it look like so much fun. I suppose I could catch up with a few stops each week!

For the stain on that bright yellow shirt you found — have you tried “Grandma’s Secret Spot Remover”? We found this (it is a laundry spray at a fabric store and us it all the time. It is a miracle spot remover for sure. Your stain my be too old or causes by somethng Grandma’s may not be able to remove, but maybe not ;’-). It is worth having in the laundry arsenal for us.

Thanks for all of your interesting and fun posts.

    1. and even if you know you won’t be able to finish the challenge, you still rode bikes and drank coffee and that’s a win lol. Thanks for the tip on the spot remover I’ll look into it. The shirt is ragsnow so at least i’m still getting use out of it. As always thanks for reading, looking and commenting.
