Sunday’s Ground Score

This past Sunday while on a ride we stopped to have a drink of water. Just moments after I took this photo Nova spotted a wallet half buried in the mud in the ditch next to us. It was wet, full of credit cards, IDs, many $20 bills all stuck together and a $10 bill. I picked it up, wiped the bulk of crud off of it and tossed it in my basket. Once home through FB we were able to contact the owner and arranged to meet to return it. He had lost it 3 weeks ago and thinks he had lost it at a location a few miles from where we found it. The recent ditch and street flooding may have carried it that distance. It probably would have never been seen from a car and had we not just chose this random spot to stop and take a drink we probably wouldn’t have seen it either.

    1. Yes he was really grateful. Haven’t heard anything out of him since so I guess no follow up story. When we met he did tell me he had just finished the hassle of getting his cards, dl etc.. replaced. Oh I did like this… When I first messaged him all I told him was I found something of his which he knew was his wallet. He had an hour drive to meet us. In that time he messaged me back asking if there was any money in the wallet. Guess he couldn’t stand the suspense. Glad I was able to tell him yes.
