Last night was our 2nd annual Freaks and Rats ride. I rode my swing bike. Not a huge turn-out which was unfortunate because the newspaper had published an article about our event and there were people stopping by to view the bikes who had read the article. We still had a great time as we always do but it was a bittersweet evening as one of the founders of the Thursday Night Pub Pedal and The Coasters Bicycle Club is now in the care of hospice after 10 years of battling cancer. He was on everyone’s mind and the talk of the evening. We ended the ride at a pub with karaoke where as a group we did our best to pay our respects to Aretha Franklin by attempting to sing R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
