Week In Review

Sunday we rode to the casino. No gambling, just to chill in the cold ac… and I do mean cold. Almost unbearable. Makes the first minute or so back in the heat and on the bikes really nice.

Our route to the casino is a mix of pavement and gravel.
Spotted a hot air balloon on the way home.

Monday morning I was out for a bit riding around outside of town as I frequently do. Brought coffee that I sipped along the way.

Stop for a sip of coffee.

Tuesday I rode to a C-store in the big city for coffee.

Drank coffee at an area fishing pond.
Found a stocking cap along the way.
Witnessed the fire department putting out a garbage truck fire at my high school parking lot.

Our middle Grandchild spent the night Tuesday evening. Wednesday he and I went for a ride around town before the rest of the family came over for pizza and fireworks. Blake chose to ride Grandma’s bike.

Neither of us can smile naturally for a photo.
So we don’t smile at all.

Thursday I went out on the tall bike. I’m sure I’ve said it before but I love riding the tall bike, I just don’t like the attention it draws so I don’t ride it nearly often as I’d like. I use the wind as my excuse for not riding it but on this day the wind was in the single digits so I had no excuse.

Tall bike, taller corn.

Friday I rode in to the big city and to a thrift store looking for nothing in particular.

A stop in the shade on the way home.

Saturday we rode in the big city stopping for lunch and later a beverage. We covered quite a bit of ground.

Dam and boat portage on the Arkansas river.
Spirit Aerosystems (formerly Boeing) in the background is why I’m where I’m at. My Grandpa moved the family here when he took a job there building planes during the war.
