Last night a friend dropped off this cheap Roadmaster mtb for me to salvage for parts.
Before doing so today, I reconfigured it as a singlespeed with coaster brake and rode it to pick up lunch.
Someone had previously done their own single speed conversion.
Not indexed shifting but a Soleus “click system”. It was a 5 speed derailleur but the shift lever had 15 click points. So I suppose one of the clicks out of each 3 for the 5 gears is bound to be right.
An hour later and my tummy’s full and the bike is in pieces.
