To celebrate International Hat Day I got out my Sunday-go-to-meeting hat when I went to run some errands this morning.
I stopped to take this photo as I thought it would make for a pretty picture.
A bike I had put together of scrounged parts and given to someone came back to me for flat repairs. This afternoon after spending quite a bit of time picking thorns from the tires I replaced the thin tubes I had originally installed with heavy duty tubes. I also made a few other adjustments. I then took it for a 16 mile ride.
Riding single-track along the river. This bike rides really good.
I also knocked something off this month”s Bike Rice & Seek list “Red Volkswagen Beetle”. Look closely and you”ll spot 2 of them.
This sprocket on the bike was new when I built it up earlier this year. I believe the bike is stored in a shed but possibly with no floor. Other chromed old parts on the bike are nothing like this. The quality of new chrome is nothing like the old I guess. Unless the owner requests otherwise I”m leaving it as is because I like it.
