Flint Hills Nature Trail Part 3

Saturday we drove a little over 2 hours to the town of Quenomo, Ks to ride a 3rd section of the Flint Hills Nature Trail that we had not yet ridden. From Quenomo we rode the trail West to about 3 miles East of Osage City and back. Our total miles were 28. Overcast sky, a mild wind blowing from the South and just a few sprinkles made for nice riding weather. Approximately midway along the trail is the town of Vassar where we stopped in at the Vassar Mercantile. Although they don’t open till next weekend, the proprietors were there and unlocked the door for us to have a look. Very neat store, nice people and they are cyclist friendly. They have a pop & water machine outside and also will help you out with air and tools if you need it.
