You”ll probably only find the following amusing if you”re a bike nerd… and maybe not even then.
Nova and I are admiring a bike she liked on the internet and I comment that the frame style is a Mixte. Nova then asks “It has no brakes?” I start laughing. She then says “Oh no it”s a Pixie that has no brakes”. I laugh some more.
This year my parents were occasionally checking in on the Tour De France. In a conversation with them about the tour my Dad says something about how that one rider sure gets a lot of attention. “They mention him all the time”. I asked the riders name but he couldn”t remember. One evening while over at their house for dinner we turned on the TV to watch some of the tour. Soon after my Dad hollers “that”s the guy. Peleton”.
One day my Mother had evidently tuned in to the tour at a mid stage sprint. She was telling me about watching it and how the cyclists raced to the finish line but then “kept on going”.
