Morning Ride To The Cemetery
As I have done most Memorial Day weekends in my latter years, I made a trip to the cemetery where members of my Dad”s side of the family are buried. Nova accompanied me. What a great spot for a final resting place. Surrounded by trees, farms, corn and wheat fields and on a dirt road. My parents will someday be buried here but us, probably not. When we were younger and had the chance to buy our plots we turned it down. We were immortal in our minds, why would we need them? The cemetery has since sold out (insert punch line here). For me this trip is used to bring the few, old fading memories of these family members back to the front of my mind in hopes that I don”t loose them. This seems to be of more importance as I get older. Yesterday we drove to Oklahoma to do the same for Nova.
This is a 10 mile round trip. The ride there was against a 21 MPH wind. The temperature was in the upper 80s.
Pictured in the last photo above is a tree I talked about in a video on another ride. Someone has removed the board and it looks like the fires have resumed.
