Build For Grand-Son – Update

Since the first/last post about this bike I”d given it a coat of black chalkboard paint.

Since then I painted the chain guard black also. A few days ago we decided the bike would look much better with colored rims. I had a red rear 24 inch wheel but no front wheel to match. I did find I had a bronze colored aluminum 24″ front wheel which had black spokes to match the rear. I tore it down and gave it a coat of red, laced and trued it all in one afternoon and evening.

The next day the bike with the new wheel set. The color is not a perfect match but close enough

Friday we decided to try different bars which he liked better. They are cruiser bars that I chopped a little of the length off of to fit him & the bike better. Ethan riding to the store today to get more rubber bands for the rubber band ball he”s making.

We”re still on the look-out for a good 24″ fork.
