Mystery Machine

This is a scan of a photo of me and one of two motorcycles I had as a kid in the 70s. For years now I”ve been trying to figure out what it was as I couldn”t recall for sure. I had always thought it was a Harley Davidson and the model an Allegro. Internet searches turned up nothing. I later remembered Allegro was the model of the Zenith stereo I had as a kid, not the motorcycle. I was now beginning to doubt it was even a Harley and wondering why I ever even thought that it was.
Yesterday I was going through some papers at work and found this photo amongst them. I believe years ago I brought the photo to work hoping a coworker could help me identify it. We studied the photo again yesterday but still came to no conclusion.

How does this relate to bicycles?

This morning I was browsing a bicycle forum and reading about a members latest build named Supperleggera. That name struck a cord with me and with the old motorcycle still fresh on my mind I did a Google search for Harley Leggera. To my surprise what I found was that my childhood motorcycle was actually a Harley and the model was a Leggero.

Finally the mystery solved!

From what I read this motorcycle was Italian made by Aermacchi for Harley Davidson. I assume during the AMF years. I also learned there have been a few bicycles made with the Leggero name.
