A Fellow Coaster’s Story
The following is a blog post by Eric W. that I really enjoyed and thought you might too. I think the story encompasses everything we (“the bike guys”) are about. I’m reposting it here with his permission…
Addiction
so….it’s official.
i’m addicted.
since i’ve started hanging out with the bike guys, i’ve had an itching to get another bike. i love my current bike, but i wanted something a little older, and a little nicer. i wasn’t taking it too serious, just occasionally checking craiglist, and newspapers. however last spring, my schwinn started having troubles braking, which i’ve learned is an important part. i took it to a shop, where it would eventually sit for two months while they tried to find a part for it. during these two months i sat in my apartment, thursday after thursday, not being able to ride, while bikes cruised past me down douglas.

Transportation Survey
For what it’s worth…
Wichita Transportation survey
Maybe you would like to make “Expand and improve the bike route system (bike paths, bike lanes) to increase the number of people who bike as a form of transportation.” your number 1 choice.
Erick On TV
Here’s the segment KWCH did on bicycling starring Erick. Look for the video link.

Farmers’ Market 2008
About a dozen of us displayed bikes at the Farmers’ Market in Old Town today to promote the group and the upcoming Art Of The Bicycle. As always the bicycles received a lot of attention. We answered questions and heard a lot of “I used to have…” stories. More photos here.
