Historic Hotel Tour 05-21

Thursday night May 21st at the Pub Pedal the Coasters can participate in a free Historic Flapper Tour of the Broadview hotel.
Meet at the usual place and we’ll ride to the Broadview where the tour will take place around 8:30pm. There is a limit as to how many can attend (35) so we’ll have to work this out amongst ourselves if we happen to have more than that number that are interested.
Again this is a free tour. All that is asked in return is that you only participate if you are truly interested and that you give your full attention and respect to our host and guide at all times.

What you can expect on the tour…
Colorful Tales
Local History
Famous People
Unexplained Happenings
Legends of The Broadview Hotel come alive
Story telling from our famous “Speak Easy” to our 8th floor famed roof top garden

River Fest Parade – May 8th

We are in Section #1 unit #9
Section #1 will stage on the west side of Main starting at 2nd street. Enter the area from Murdock and go south.

We line up at starting at 5:30. The parade starts at 6:30. Since we are at the front this year you need to be there on time. Everyone will need to have a button and dress and decorate their bicycles like the 1960’s or 1970’s for the “Get Your Groove On” theme. No handing out candy, literature or gifts of any kind.

Cardboard Box Night is the night before the parade. Decorate your bike with cardboard in a “groovy” theme and ride your creation both nights. Some suggestions… flowers, guitars and peace signs for your bike and a Tie-dye t-shirt for yourself.

There was an entry fee to get us in the parade. We will split up the cost and collect money the night of the parade at the staging area so bring some cash.

Once again… if you plan on riding in the parade you…
Must have a River Fest button.
Must bring cash to chip in for the entry fee.
Must decorate your bike and/or yourself in a “get your groove on” theme.
Must be on time.
Must Not throw or hand out anything.
Must ride in a safe and courteous manner.
Must have fun.

15 Seconds Of Fame

If you are working towards your 15 minutes of fame then this might help you out…
Fox Kansas (KSAS) has asked the Thursday Night Bike Bunch to participate in a 15 second commercial they are filming for LC Retail Liquor on West Douglas near the Shamrock. To quote the producer… “it would be a quick deal and would only involve riding by and maybe having a couple of bikes stop and enter the store”.

If you would like to appear in the commercial bring your bike to 1400 W Douglas Ave, Thursday, February 26th no later than 6:00pm.

Help continue the fine tradition of bicycles in alcohol related commercials :-)

2009 St Patrick’s Parade – March 14th

Saturday, March 14. The parade starts a 12:00pm (noon). Same route and routine as last year. Its free for us to enter the parade but the Historic Delano committee does encourage donations to help cover their expenses, so if everybody would kick in a buck or 2 that would be great. We’ll collect donations that morning. We should meet at the church/Lawrence Dumont parking lot about 11:00 to 11:30. Wacky and Green is the theme as normal for this parade. Post Parade Pub Pedal to follow beginning at the Shamrock.
