Riding 2 Wheels To Ride 4 Wheels
Of all days it was April first of this year that I attached my newly purchased skateboard to my back pack and rode to a near-by school and attempted to ride it. Skateboarding is something I’ve never really done but have been wanting to try for some time. I recall having a skateboard when I was a child but I don’t recall ever riding it. Our street was too rough and I guess it never occurred to me I could ride or walk somewhere else to learn to ride it.
The only goal I’ve set for myself is to stay upright on it while moving forward. Once maybe twice a week I’ll bike somewhere that has clean, smooth concrete to practice that. I’m trying to be as cautious and sensible as I can about it as I find it a little scary and can tell how easy it would be to get injured. It’s funny how comfortable and safe the bicycle feels when I hop back on it after one of my skate practice sessions.
I really like the idea of using the bike to pursue a hobby or interest of some kind and would like to find other things to ride my bike to do.
