Riding For Dose 1
We’ve been anxiously waiting for our turn to get the Covid19 vaccine. Last Friday the county announced they would open up the final phase of vaccinating (everyone else) on Monday. We immediately went online to schedule our appointment and were fortunate to get the first time slot of 9:00am. The shots are being administered downtown in the big city.
It was a windy Monday to say the least. Nova decided to drive and just meet me there. I left pretty early to make sure I wasn’t late. A 20some mph tailwind got me there even earlier. Once there I let the long-sleeved shirt I wore air out a bit while I put on a t-shirt I’d brought to go under it so I could expose my arm for my shot. I then rode around and took a few photos.
When Nova arrived we got in line. The wind was increasing causing everyone in line to teeter and shiver. Receiving the vaccine was pretty uneventful. The process was smooth and all of the nurses and volunteers were very kind and helpful. We scheduled or 2nd appointment while there.
By the time I headed home the wind had increased to a brutal 32mph. It was a struggle to say the least. I stopped for a coffee and a couple other times just to rest. Hoping for a more pleasant day for our 2nd appointment.
