Birthday Bike – Trek Singletrack 930

Some years ago Nova and I noticed a trend that on or near my birthday each year, one of us would get a new (or new to us) bike. Not intentionally but it would just happen. This year was no exception. The day before my birthday I spotted this Trek Singletrack 930 on Facebook Marketplace at what I think was a great price and I jumped on it planning to use it for parts. Once I had the bike in my possession though I realized it was too nice of a bike to part out. The only thing I had to do to make it road worthy was air up the tires and put the front brake cable into the stop on the fork.

On my birthday I rode it to the park where we met my parents for my birthday breakfast. After, Nova and I rode to get coffee. I probably only put a dozen miles on it but it seems it rides really nice.

I believe the bike to be from 1994. Other than the 1.75″ Continental Conti Top Touring 2000 tires and the Specialized saddle, I think it’s all original. If I keep it for a rider I will probably put on wider tires mostly for aesthetic reasons even though the Contis rolled so nice. I’d also swap out the grip shifters for trigger shifters.
