Bike Life During A Pandemic – 5
Mostly more of the same over the past 2 weeks. The state is slowly opening back up. We were in stage 1 of reopening with stage 2 supposed to have begun last week but things were changed and we’re now in stage 1.5. I may have stated this before but none of this really has much effect on our daily lives.
One thing that was different last week is that after 8 weeks of avoiding going inside anywhere other than my own home, I finally went inside somewhere. Two times actually. Once to the Drs office and the other time a c-store bathroom.
As for the visit to the Dr… I developed a rash similar to the bullseye rash associated with Lyme disease along with a few other symptoms that point towards the disease. Many times our bikes take us to wooded areas and I had spotted a couple ticks crawling on me recently but none that had taken hold. The Dr was pretty confident it wasn’t Lyme’s but to be sure had me tested. The test came back negative which is good… I guess… but now back to the drawing board to figure out what the cause of these symptoms is.
My Father had one of our state’s earliest cases of Lyme disease back in the early 90s I believe it was. When I first noticed my symptoms and was consulting with Dr Google, I learned that it’s currently Lyme Disease Awareness Month.
With ticks, mosquitos, poisonous plants and of course “the virus”, almost makes a person never want to leave their house. Stay safe friends.
