OKC – Coffeeneuring Challenge 2018 – Coffee 5
Friday afternoon we decided to go for a weekend getaway to Oklahoma City and do some riding. We left friday evening. We stayed at a hotel on the river and bike path. Saturday morning we took off on the bikes to do a loop ride around part of the city which would take us by 2 lakes, the farmers market area, Bricktown/Downtown and the river. 10 or so miles into the ride was the coffee stop which was actually in the town of Bethany. We also stopped for lunch at the Loaded Bowl a vegan restaurant which is really good, Stonecloud brewery and Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar. Our last stop was Whisky Chicks where we were hoping to see an 80s cover band play. The band was to start at 9:30. We tried but just couldn’t hang in there that late and left sometime after 9 and rode back to the hotel with a slight detour to Waffle house for a late dinner.
- Location: Aloha Coffee Shoppe, Bethany OK.
- Date: 10-27-2018
- Coffee: Iced mocha with soy milk.
- Details: Coffee was pretty good. Maybe a little too sweet and chocolatey. Went down real easy and quick.
- Miles: 41 ( Nova had her odometer)
- Bike: Old Specialized hybrid.
Although Nova grew up just north of OKC and as an adult lived in the city before moving to Kansas, much has changed and there’s a lot of the city she had never seen, so much of this is new to both of us.
Photos from the day…
This is fun to read your and others coffee challenge rides. I have done it the last four years but took a pass this year. No reason, just am not doing it.
Yes I noticed you weren’t participating this year.
