2017 In Review

Highlights from last year…

Bike Club.
The rides and parties with our bike group are always a good time.

The first of which was our New Year’s Day dinner and ride.
The Patriotic Pub Pedal is just one of many theme nights we had.

Midwest Bicycle Swap.
Just as much a social event as a swap. I always enjoy this event.

The Free Pile my favorite part of the swap.

Pedaler’s Jamboree.
We once again attended this event in Missouri along with our Nephew Ben. Bikes, beer, food and music. This ride is always a great time.

Open Streets.
The big city’s first open Streets event was a success.

Riding Trips.
As we often do we took trips in the summer and the fall. August was Colorado, October and November New Mexico and Arizona. Short video of where we rode…

Grandkids.
Riding with the Grandsons during their summer visit. Unfortunately we never got around to riding with our Granddaughter.

Youngest Grandson.

Eldest Grandson

New Bikes.
In October I purchased a new bike. A low end Diamondback. I wasn’t comfortable spending a lot of money not knowing if I’d like this style of bike or not. THe model is the Haanjo which they market as a “alternative roads” bike. So far I’m pretty pleased with it.

In November a friend gave me an old Western Flyer 3 speed which I swapped out the wheels and saddle and added a basket. It’s now one of my favorite bikes.

I upsized the Grandson’s old 20″ fatbike so I could ride it.

Modified an old MTB I’d found with the intentions of making it a cargo bike. I still haven’t gotten around to the cargo part yet.

And that’s about it. It was another great year.
