2015 In Review

Some of the highlights of the past year…

January…

Celebrating my Dad”s 81st birthday with a ride on the Flint Hills nature Trail.

February…

Anything we do with our bike club the Coasters is a great time like our Valentines Day get-together and ride.

Group photo outside the house we toured.

March…

I completed my 2nd Errandonnee once again riding a different bike for each errand.

April…

Riding with the Grand-kids to get lunch. We didn”t know it at the time but this will probably be the last time we ride with all of the Grand-kids for a while. Later in the year they moved out-of-state, many miles away.

May…

Our 3rd Pedalers Jamboree.

Our friends host a “Bicycle Bar Tour & Cajun Fest” which is always a hightlight of the year.

July…

We used a bike share program for the first time while out-of-town in Kansas City.

August…

A summer ride on the Prairie Sunset trail with my parents. For whatever reason I don”t think we got to ride together as much this year as we did last.

Prairie Sunset Trail

September…

Another road trip to Missouri and the town of Pleasant Hill to attend Buddy”s Cycle Fest a bike show, swap and ride.

The final Midwest Bicycle Fest. Something I am very proud to have started and manged for 11 years. It was a lot of fun but the work and stress involved began to overshadow the fun. A huge thanks to family and friends who helped so much over the years.
We gave away 12 bikes, a Brooks saddle and a ton of other bike parts and accessories!

Cans for raffle bike tickets.

October…

Fall vacation to Wisconsin and Michigan.

The nation”s first rail to trail the Sparta Elroy is one of several rails-to-trails we rode on this trip.

November…

I organized our cities first Cranksgiving (a bike ride & food drive). Something I had been wanting to do for a couple of years. A small turn-out but I was very pleased with how it went.

December…

A very cool experience I had on a ride.

I rode every day of 2015.

Other Highlights…

A photo of mine was published in the Kansas Trail Guide.
