Brewvet Ride 8

Ride 8 of the 2014 Brewvet hosted by the Portajohn blog.

My plan was to just ride a mile or so to get something to eat and return home but after my lunch I found myself out of town cruising around and what do I come across but a bar. One that”s been around longer than I have yet I”ve never been to it. It”s kind of an area landmark that everyone knows about yet I don”t know of anyone that”s been there other than my Father which was probably over 60 years ago when he was a young man.

I hadn’t brought any water with me and was developing a thirst so I decided to stop in and count it as my final Brewvet ride as the deadline is tomorrow. I figured I wouldn”t be ending the Brewvet with a bang knowing the beer choices would be slim but my pay off for stopping was even better than some great craft beer. What I found when I entered the old place was a familiar face on the other side of the bar, an old friend and former co-worker. As he pulled the tap we begin rehashing the past and catching up on the present.

Location: Uncle Sams.
The beer you enjoyed: Budweiser.
Some enlightening thought: A mundane beer like Budweiser tastes better when accompanied with good conversation and story telling.
Miles rode: 16
Date: 06-09-2014

Ending the Brewvet with 8 rides on 8 different days to 8 different establishments drinking 8 different beers and riding a total of 154 miles in the process.
