2014 Winter Errandonnee – Part 3
This post is one of multiple posts (click here for all posts) on the 2014 Winter Errandonnee Challenge is being hosted by the bike blog chasing mailboxes d.c..
This morning I rode to the post office to deliver a package. After checking with the host of this challenge, this errand (for reasons I won’t get in to) can count as my work errand in the challenge.
For this errand I rode the Bike Of Frankenstein.
Surely setting some kind of speed record getting there.
Errand: Work. To mail a package.
Destination: Post office.
What I learned/observation: An employee at the post office gets a kick out of and enjoys discussing the different bikes I show up on. Who doesn’t get a kick out of bicycles in one way or another?

This afternoon after my Chinese leftovers for lunch, I rode gravel roads to the near-by town of Clearwater for dessert. I rode my brand new bike the Mongoose Dolomite. This is the first ride on the bike as I just finished assembling it today. This can count as adessert errand in the challenge.
I took advantage of the shade from these hay bales for a short break. The temperature was 75!
Picking up an apple pie and water at the C-store.
Eating my dessert in the shade of the town’s museum across the street from the C-store.
Taking a different route then I have in the past, I found a new-to-me Chisholm Trail marker.
Errand: Ride for dessert
Destination: C-store in another town.
What I learned/observation: I still have some tweaking to do on the new bike. The heat today reminded me how much I dis-like summer.
