The New Dam

The other day I rode the Arkansas River path to see if the path was open yet where it had been closed during construction of the new Lincoln street bridge and dam. The path is now open and every part of this project appears to be finished. This new dam replaces an old one that was originally built in 1970 and was inflatable. It didn”t work so well and in 1977 was replaced with a mechanical dam. The bridge and dam used to be one structure. They are now separate. More info and pics of the old dam here.
