Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park Trail – New Jersey
The Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park Trail is a 68 mile rail-to-trail in New Jersey. We rode it from the town of Frenchtown to Washington’s Crossing where George Washington and troops crossed the Delaware river in 1776. This trail is on both an old rail-road bed and a tow path. You ride along the Delaware river and the canal. Lots of history along this trail. The trail is flat and a Crushed Stone surface and makes for a really nice ride. We stopped in the town of Stockton for lunch and ate at the Stockton Food Store which is in the old depot.
This ride was part of our Fall 2012 vacation.
