Riding The New Bike Path

Today we went to check out a new path in the big city. It’s an extension of the Canal Hike & Bike Path that connects to the K-96 path. We started in Planeview park and rode the Planeview path over to the Canal path and up to Grove Park. The section of the Canal path from 17th street to Grove park is brand new. From Grove park we rode the K-96 path over to Oliver. Previously when when we rode the K-96 path we missed this mile section. At Oliver we turned around and rode back against a 25 mph wind. Total we rode about 27 miles.
On the ride back we stopped at Piatt park and the memorial to those who died in 1965 when a KC-135 Tanker plane crashed into the Piatt neighborhood killing the crew and many civilians.
