Haysville’s old Vickers station received new gas pumps this week. 4 of these restored pumps stand on the 2 islands where the original pumps once stood. The pumps, originally from the old Coopers Corner station, were donated to the city and restored.
Karla street under the railroad is now open. Karla connects to Seneca West of the tracks and Delos East of the tracks.

Fred Stearns was the founder of the Haysville State Bank and Haysville’s first Mayor serving as Mayor from July 1951 to April 1955.
He was also a board member of the Office of the State Banking Commission from July 12, 1957 to April 30, 1961 and again from May 1, 1967 to April 30, 1973.

The Haysville School District said the second grade teacher taped one of her students to his chair after he refused to sit down. She later told an administrator what she had done. While that teacher has been disciplined, the boys parents said theyre still looking for answers.

This sand pit turned swimming hole just North of Haysville at 5800 South Seneca was an area hot spot during the summer months. I believe it was open from sometime in the 1940s to either the late 1970s or early 1980s.
