Could Haysville Be The Next City To Be Bought?

For years Derbyites have been smugly residing in their nice little town in their nice little (sometimes large) homes having their yards nicely manicured while unbeknownst to them a lawn service company had bigger plans then just keeping the city well groomed.
According to the headline Derby will be bought by the Suburban Landscaping company.
Could Haysville be the next city to be bought by this landscaping company or will Haysville’s own Jojac’s or Klean Kut beat them to it?
I suppose their could be worse companies to buy your city than a lawn care company. Maybe someone should check out that peep hole at the steam’n weenies place and see what’s really going on in there. Are they really steaming weenies or planing a municipal take over?

Note to self: Klean Kut needs to be added to the K for C list.

Riggs Pond Fish Salvage Order

From the City of Haysville…

Riggs Pond is being drained for repairs. During this time there is a Fish Salvage Order for the pond. You can take fish from the pond by all legal means and by snagging, seine, gig and hand as long as the Fish Salvage signs are posted around the lake. The Fish Salvage ends when the signs are removed. Those 16 and older taking fish during this salvage order must have a fishing license.

Despite all the rain, they do appear to be draining the pond faster than it’s filling up.

Cardinals Baseball Car Wash

Haysville Cardinal’s 8 & under rookie 2 baseball team is having a free car wash to raise money for the team. All donations and sponsorship funds support the team with safety equipment and all team needs such as: uniforms, learning aids, tournament fees and team events.

What: Car wash fund raiser for the Haysville Cardinals.
When: Saturday, April 7th 9:30am.
Where: Pizza Hut at Maple & Ridge Rd, Wichita, KS.

Celebrate April Fools Day With An Easter Egg Hunt

Celebrate April Fools Day with an Easter egg hunt… or maybe its an April Fools joke and theres not really going to be an Easter egg hunt. Youll look silly walking around the Historic District with your empty basket peeking under the bushes.

You can also just forget its April Fools day and participate in this event as a celebration of the upcoming Easter.

South Broadway Corridor Plan Moves Forward

The South Broadway Corridor Plan final draft was approved by the Haysville City Council in February and will be reviewed by the Metropolitan Transportation Plan Project Advisory Committee this month.

“We are looking at the recommendations and figuring out which regulations we need to adjust and change,” said Carol Neugent, Haysville director of governmental services. “Zoning is an example of a change that may need to be made.”
