Parents Of Bullied Student Protest Outside Campus High

Parents of a Campus High School student protested outside the Haysville school Thursday afternoon, alleging their daughter was severely bullied and that school officials did not respond appropriately.

A group of about 50 Campus students staged a counterprotest along 55th Street South, holding signs that read “Honk if you love Campus” and “Campus is safe.”

Entire Football Team Threatens To Quit If Coach Is Replaced

The last several seasons have been tough ones for the Campus High Colts. But the players say its not all about winning games.

“Ive seen a lot of improvements–not winning record-wise, but with being a family, being together,” player Jonny Hyde says. “Ive seen a big improvement on that.”

The players found out this week that Coach Mike Schartz has left the school. They say he was fired for not winning enough games. Several players, led by team captain Devon Rogers, say they dont want to play for anybody else. Rogers submitted a petition to the school board with the signatures of 75 players who say theyll quit the team if Schartz isnt the coach.

Taste of Christmas

The Haysville United Methodist Church would like to invite the Haysville community and all its friends and family to our “Taste of Christmas” event being held on Saturday, December 15 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
This event will have booths setup with samples of our favorite Christmas foods for you to taste and enjoy. Candy, appetizers, entrees, and beverages from our familys Christmas collection will be available for you to taste and savor. Music, decorations and the tastes of Christmas will be flowing through the air this night, so bring a friend and come enjoy!
Each admission will receive a Cookbook with recipes of the foods sampled that night and a Kids Zone will be available for the lil ones with activities and snacks to occupy them, while the adults immerse themselves in the smells, sounds and tastes of the Christmas season. Cost will be $5 at the door with Children 10 & Under Free.
The event will be held at Haysville United Methodist Church Family Life Center located at 601 E. Grand in Haysville, Kansas.

Police Search For Suspect In Haysville Bank Robbery

Police officers are searching for a man who robbed a Haysville bank this morning.
It happened shortly after 11 a.m. at the Community Bank, located at 371 N. Main in Haysville.
The suspect is described as a white man in his late 40s to early 50s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. He was wearing a gray beanie, dark sunglasses and a gray sweatshirt with the sleeves cut off with “Denim Jeans and Company” on the chest in yellow.

No injuries were reported.
