Greg Slade has been named head football coach at Campus High School in Haysville. The former Rose Hill coach brings with him two state championship game apperances, and one state title.
When reached by telephone on Sunday night, Slade had no comment, but Campus Athletics Director Richard Elliot confirmed to CatchItKansas.com that Slade has been tabbed to lead the program starting this fall.

Police responded to a shooting Saturday night, at 300 East Taylor, in Haysville.
Chief Jeff Whitfield says a 911 call was made from the residence. Upon arriving, police found an occupant of the home, who appeared to have suffered a self-inflicted wound.
No condition on the injured person has been released.

One person is treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire in Haysville.
Firefighters from Wichita, Sedgwick County and McConnell arrived to smoke and flames coming from a home in the 700 block of W. Chelsea at around 1 p.m. on Friday.

Farmers Insurance has a new agent in the area. Latoriea Dickerson has opened up a location at 3014 E Harry St in Wichita. She came to Farmers Insurance eager to serve the community. She has a centrally located agency to provide services not only to the Metro, but to outer laying communities such as Haysville. This location has been open since December 1, 2012.
Latoriea has worked at different companies honing the skills that it takes to own and operate her own insurance agency. She has been apart of an emergency shelter for at risk youth for 12 years, she worked at Convergys – a Wichita call center for 3 years, and prior to coming to Farmers she was with Harrington Health, a health insurance company in Wichita for 2 yrs. She prides herself in her customer service skills. The new Old Oaks Disc Golf Course is playable. I havent heard anything on it officially being open though. Map of the course here. Access and parking for the course is on S. Jane street.
