Cleanup Begins On Cowskin Creek

From the City of Haysville…

Cleanup Scheduled To Begin On Cowskin Creek
Haysville Public Works and Sedgwick County Public Works are joining forces to cleanup a portion of the Cowskin Creek that flows through Haysville.
The cooperative project, slated to begin on Monday, December 2nd, will include cutting down specifically selected trees, trimming overgrown brush, and removing other debris in and around the creek. Intended to maintain the flow of the waterway, this should reduce the risk of blockage-induced flooding while
also restoring the visual appeal of the creek.
Behind the scenes, work on the project actually began months ago. Citizens in the affected areas have been notified, easements have been granted, and permits from local, state, and national agencies have been approved. A representative from the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism was even on hand to make sure any threatened or endangered species in the area would not be negatively affected.
We thank our citizens in advance for their continued patience and support of the good things happening here in Haysville!

and a PSA from HOL… If youre sleeping along the creek you may want to move.
