City To Burn Brush Piles

From the city of Haysville…

Haysville will begin burning brush in the field just south of the Public Works Department, located at 401 S. Jane on Tuesday, January 14th. Even though the fires are scheduled to be burning 24 hours a day, the process may still take 90 days to complete. This is due, in part, to the huge quantity of brush collected after the now-infamous straight-line winds blew through town in June of 2013.

Citizens in potentially affected areas of town have received individual notifications. Anyone with questions about the burn can contact Public Works at (316) 529-5900.

We thank our citizens in advance for their continued support of the great things happening here in Haysville!

Haysville Motor Ad On Bus

We added a new little piece of Haysville history to the collection today. This is an 8×10 photo of what I believe to be a City of Wichita bus, parked at the old Wichita transit building on West 10th street in Wichita. On the bus is an ad for the Haysville Motor company in “Downtown Haysville” which was just North of Grand (71st) on Main (Seneca) on the East side of the street.

In this old photo you can see the H from the original sign to Haysville Motor company.
