Haysville Looks To Spur New Home Construction

From KSN.com

Haysville is the latest community hoping to use tax breaks to build its population. The city council recently approved a program called “Build Haysville” as city leaders hope to lure people looking to build new homes. The tax break incentive has become a highly competitive effort among cities trying to build the tax base.

Kwik Shop – Out With The Old, In With The New

Haysvilles Kwik Shop, one of the oldest businesses in Haysville to still be operating at the same location and building, closed its doors this past Saturday.

This morning the doors opened at the new location on the Northeast corner of Grand & Meridian.

The new store is much bigger and contains many new items and features, most notably I believe is the small grocery section. Outside there are more, easier to access gas pumps.

The new Kwik Shop will be having a Grand Opening celebration Friday, February 21 and Saturday, February 22.

Haysville Skate Park Gets No Respect

When built in 2005 the then named Old Oaks Skate Park (now Christopher Elsen Memorial Skate Park) was a nice addition to Haysvilles park system. Sadly whenever I visit the park it looks like the photo above more times than not.
Whose to blame I cant say but I would hate to think those who are serious about their sport and use this facility would trash their own playground in this way.

Haysville Community Blood Drive

What: Haysville Community Blood Drive

When: Saturday, February 1st 9:00 am ~ Noon

Where: Haysville Activity Center ~ 7106 S. Broadway. On the American Red Cross Bloodmobile

What Else: Currently, the Red Cross has an urgent need for blood types O positive, O negative, A negative and B negative. Eligible donors with these blood types are encouraged to make an appointment to give in the coming days.
There are four types of transfusable products that can be derived from blood: red cells, platelets, plasma and cryoprecipitate. Typically, two or three of these are produced from a pint of donated whole blood – hence each donation can help save up to three lives.

Please call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org to schedule your appointment.
