Haysville Public Schools District Fine Arts Fair
Haysville Public Schools is hosting its annual District Fine Arts Fair at the Campus High School Gym. Art projects will be on display from students across the district. Music and drama performances are also scheduled during the Festival.
The hours are Thursday, March 27 from 5 – 8 PM and Friday, March 28 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.. Come support the talents of our students. The event is free and open to the public.
More Apartments May Be Coming To Haysville

A Wichita company is looking to develop a new apartment complex in Haysville.
At Monday’s Haysville City Council meeting, Jay Van Sickle of J Van Sickle and Company (JVSCo) showed a video of a 96-unit prototype. The company is looking to eventually expand to 200 units total. These will be mainly one- or two-bedroom units with a few studio apartments. He said there will be enough real estate to encourage new businesses to locate close to the apartments. Van Sickle is looking at a large land site on east Grand Avenue by the former senior center, and negotiations are underway with the landowner.

HAYSVILLE MARTIAL ARTS STUDENTS STRIKE GOLD AT 2014 MID-CONTINENT MARTIAL ARTS OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Carlen Otts, Vincent Murillo, Stephen Swope, Jaxson Corbin, Kaitlyn Denesha, Kristin Brogdin, Adam Schmidt, CJ Denesha, Eric Matthews, Mike Brogdin and Jeramie Swope of Black Eagle Martial Arts of Haysville and Derby, Kansas, brought home 26 medals between them from the 2014 Mid-Continent Martial Arts Open Championships held in Andover, Kansas on February 22, 2014.
Carlen Otts placed 1st in Weapons Patterns, 1st in Forms and 3rd in Olympic Sparring.
Vincent Murillo placed 1st in Weapons Patterns, 1st in Poomsae and 2nd in Olympic Sparring.
Kaitlyn Denesha placed 2nd in Poomsae and 3rd in Olympic Sparring.
Jaxson Corbin placed 3rd in Poomsae and Olympic Sparring.
Stephen Swope placed 1st in Weapons Patterns and 2nd in Poomsae.
Kristin Brogdin placed 3rd in Poomsae.
Adam Schmidt placed 1st in Weapons Patterns, 1st in Weapons Sparring, 3rd in Poomsae and 3rd in Olympic Sparring.
CJ Denesha placed 2nd in Poomsae and 3rd in Olympic Sparring.
Eric Matthews placed 3rd in Poomsae and Olympic Sparring.
Mike Brogdin placed 1st in Adult Weapons Patterns, 2nd in Poomsae and 1st Olympic Sparring.
Jeramie Swope placed 1st in Adult Weapons Patterns and 2nd in Adult Poomsae. Jeramie also received Grand Champion for Adult Weapons Patterns.
The 2014 Mid-Continent Open was sponsored by Air Capital Taekwondo in Andover, Kansas.

This event is open to both runners and walkers
and is 4-miles in length.
All participants are encouraged to wear green!!
Treats will be awarded to the most “festive” runners.
Top male/female finishers will each receive a $50 Dick’s Gift Certificate and top youth finisher will receive a $10 Dick’s Gift Certificate.
