The Sedgwick County Legislative Delegation is conducting this public forum to receive comments from citizens. This is your opportunity to share your concerns and ask questions of area legislators.

Couple Takes A Gamble On Casino Limo Service

J.J. and Tisha Neptune hope to make a buck off the Kansas Star Casino, but not at the roulette wheel or blackjack table.

The Haysville couple started Neptune Limousine service last month, shortly after the casino opened in nearby Mulvane.

“It was a risk we could take and see where it goes,” Tisha said.

New IB program for Campus High School in Haysville

Campus High School in Haysville is in the final stage of certification to become an International Baccalaureate school. The school hopes to enter the first class of 30 to 40 students into the advanced college preparatory program in the fall of 2013.

Principal Myron Regier says the school has been working with a consultant from the international education program to develop the curriculum. The school hopes to accept up to 60 IB students in the near future.

A new Sleep Inn hotel, located on the Haysville turnpike access road at I-35 and 71st Street, had its first guests this past Thursday.
“We are very excited to bring the ‘Designed to Dream’ concept to South Wichita,” said Ankur Patel, general manager.
The interior design features soothing natural green and mahogany colors in the lobby and 54 rooms.
The rooms include a two-room king suite, two Jacuzzi suites, seven standard suites and 44 rooms with a king-sized bed or two queens.

Haysville Purchases Land

The city council’s purchase of a five-acre parcel for $140,000 is the first step forward in the South Broadway Corridor Plan.

“It’s exciting to be moving forward with the development plan,” said Carol Neugent, director of governmental services. “We’re not sure what we’ll use the property for, but it has potential for industrial or light commercial frontage.”
