Coopers Corner
Located on the N/E corner of 79th S and Broadway (81 highway) this building was home to Coopers Corner service station which in later years was owned by the Babb family. This was a busy station when 81 was a major highway before I35 was built. Photo taken in early 2000s long after the station had closed.

Dewey Gunzelman Memorial Pool
Dewey Gunzelman lived on Seneca just north of the big ditch on the west side. Before Haysville had a public swimming pool he would allow area kids to swim in his private pool. I believe this would have been in the late 50s/early 60s. The house is still there but the pool has been filled in.
Haysville’s current swimming pool is named in his honor and is located at 525 Sarah Ln in Haysville, KS.
Photo is of the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Dewey Gunzelman memorial Pool. Date unknown.
