Leekers Family Foods bought out A’s IGA in Hillcrest Plaza and later built a new building at 201 N Main. Leekers was bought out by Food 4 Less in late 2004. While at 201 N Main Leekers received some damage in the 1999 tornado. Below is a scan of brochure from the move to the new location.
The Haysville State Bank was founded by Fred Stearns and was originally located on South Main and later moved to new building at 107 Wayne Ave. It was later bought out by Intrust Bank.

The Building was destroyed by tornado in 1999. A replica was built over the remaining vault.
Located on the N/E corner of 79th S and Broadway (81 highway) this building was home to Coopers Corner service station which in later years was owned by the Babb family. This was a busy station when 81 was a major highway before I35 was built. Photo taken in early 2000s long after the station had closed.
Bionic Burger originally opened a restaurant on the East side of North Main in the original Dairy Queen building. This building was destroyed in the 1999 tornado. Bionic Burger later reopened across Main street in the old Lil’ Duffer building which had also been occupied by Dairy Queen before it closed.
Originally located in a building on the East side of North Main. Dairy Queen moved into the old Lil’ Duffer building and Bionic Burger occupied the original Dairy Queen building.
Dairy Queen closed in early 2009.

Hillcrest Plaza Shopping center located on West side of North Main, Haysville, KS. Built in 1956. 2005 building receives facelift. Some of the business that have been located there… Haysville IGA, Conrad’s, Jerry’s, A’s also IGAs. Morrows, Fayes Family Dining, Colts sports bar, tanning salons, Western Auto, True Value Hardware.
