“Wichita Silhouettes” — biography of Harley S. Riggs, proprietor of Riggs Plumbing Company, 2514 West Douglas. Born on a farm in Chase County, Kansas on August 19, 1905. Came to Wichita in March 1909. Established his own plumbing firm in 1940. Married a nurse, Miss Mildred Wilhelm, in 1928. They have a daughter, Mrs. L. R. (Alberta) Sampson, Jr., 616 West Grand, Haysville, and three grandchildren.

Report of death Sunday night of pioneer Haysville resident and shopkeeper, James Albert Baughman, at age 91. Born August 16, 1861 and brought to Sedgwick County in 1872 by his father, who settled on a farm near Haysville.

Hanson, a Haysville student, received a gold medal and competed for Grand Champion for Beginner Weapons in the Salt City Classic Open Taekwondo Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas, on Saturday, February 7, 2015. Hanson, an orange belt, also received bronze medals for point-break sparring and Olympic sparring. A student of the Kansas Chun Kuhn Taekwondo Association. Hanson performed Jahng Chun Gun 4 staff pattern, created and taught by Grand Master Bok Man Kim, the last surviving original master and proponent of Taekwondo who helped develop the martial art and spread it around the globe.
