HAYSVILLE TAEKWONDO STUDENT WINS GOLD MEDALS

N. D. Hanson, a Haysville student, received gold medals for power breaking, empty hand sparring, empty hand pattern, and weapons pattern in the Air Capital Taekwondo Martial Arts Festival in Andover, Kansas, on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014. Hanson, a yellow belt, also received silver medals for weapons sparring and speed kicking. Hanson is a student of the Kansas Chun Kuhn Taekwondo Association.

Three other students of the Association also received medals.

Stephen Swope, a black belt, won Grand Champion in the Jumping High Kick event. Swope also received gold medals in the empty hand pattern and standing high kick events. Swope received a silver medal for weapons pattern.

Mr. Jeramie Swope, Technical Director of the Association, received gold medals for power breaking and empty hand pattern, and a silver medal for weapons pattern.

Master Mike Swope, President of the Association, received gold medals for empty hand pattern and weapons pattern.

The Kansas Chun Kuhn Taekwondo Association teaches traditional Chun Kuhn Taekwondo and sport Taekwondo to children and adults while encouraging respect, cooperation and the exchange of ideas between all martial arts to promote a healthy lifestyle and the physical, mental and social benefits of practicing the martial arts.
