Train Wreck 1953

An accident in the fall of 1953 which involved a cement truck and the Rock Island Rocket a passenger train. The train was going south when it struck the truck which was from the cement plant that used to be were Norland Plastics is now located. The driver was killed instantly. People came from all over to view the scene as word got out about the wreck. It took 3 days to get the train back on the tracks and clean up the mess.
