Hot Time in the Old Town

Thursday’s Pub Pedal was hot. It ended with some of us watching the burning bank building at Douglas and Broadway gradually fill up with smoke.

National Night Out

Tuesday, August 7th is National Night out. Come hang out with your bike in Larry’s South Wichita neighborhood. Meet up at the corner of Gilbert and Topeka (Larry’s house) in time to leave by 7:00pm. From there we’ll ride a short ways to Lincoln Street Park where the festivities will include free hot dogs, music, games, guests and more.
This is a good opportunity to show off your bike and to promote the club and club events.

New Website Features

I’d like to point out a few new features to the Coasters website…

All of these can be found under “Categories” in the right hand column.
E-mail Alerts. Sign up to receive e-mail notices about rides and events. This can be found under “Contact” on the right.

I’d also like to point out the “Comments” feature at the bottom of each news story. I encourage you to use this feature to post any comments or questions related to a particular news entry.

Dodge City Days Parade

Tom the Coaster from out west (aka “Cowboy”) is inviting everyone to come out and ride with him in the Dodge City Days Western Parade on July 28th in Dodge City, KS. I think Dodge City is about 2.5 hours from Wichita. You might post a comment below if you plan on going.

More about the parade from the Dodge City Days website…
10am – DODGE CITY DAYS WESTERN PARADE-Civic Center to Dodge City Roundup Arena

We present to you the 47th Dodge City Days Western Parade televised by KBSD-TV. Our theme this year, ?Kick a Little? at Dodge City Days?, promises to make great floats sponsored by local businesses and clubs. A judge?s stand will house those who are voting on the floats for awards. To enter the parade, contact KBSD-TV at 620-227-3121.

Art Of The Bicycle Update

For those that are planning on showing bikes at the Art Of The Bicycle this Friday, please take your bike(s) to the Go-Away-Garage (508 S Commerce) on Tuesday and Wednesday. It takes a while to get the bikes and lighting arranged so the bikes need to be there as early as possible, no later than Thursday please. Any bikes showing up late may not get a place in the show.
I’m sure exceptions will be made for those coming from out of town.

See you there!
