Wild West Night Recap

Cowboys and cowgirls, a few city folk, one Indian, some neatly decorated bikes and Christine’s great chili.

2007 Recap

Despite the bad weather of strong winds and a brief downpoor it was a great festival. A lot of bikes. a lot of people, a lot of prizes given away and a lot of food and fun.

Thank yous…
I’m afraid I’ll leave someone out so I’ll just say a big thank you to all the Coasters who helped pull this off. Thanks to Mitch who doesn’t even have a connection to bicycles but heard we were needing a cook and volunteered his grill and services.
Thanks to the Spokesman from the Kansas City area for making the trip 2 years in a row now.
Thanks to everyone for picking up after themselves. There was very little clean up that had to be done after. Hope everyone had a good time.

Photos…
Thanks to Don for some of these photos.

Get Well Soon Ric

Not for sure how it happened but Ric fell at the fountains last Thursday and apparently broke his wrist while trying to break his fall. Might have been the wind blew him over as bad as it was.

Just want to wish Ric a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in the saddle soon.

It’s almost here!!

Cardboard Box Night

Thursday, September 6th is “Cardboard Box Night” at the Pub Pedal. Think outside or inside the box. Transform your bike into something else (i.e. a car or horse) with the help of a cardboard box or simply decorate it using cardboard. Dress yourself up in cardboard. Anything goes as long as it includes cardboard.
We’ll ride to the fountains where the best bike will win a prize.

Update: The prize is a gift certificate to Old Chicago. We plan on being at the fountains between 9:00 and 9:30pm.

BBQ at the Shamrock

Thursday night August 30th the Shamrock Lounge is having a BBQ just for the Thursday night bicycle bunch. I guess a “customer appreciation” type thing. Come hungry and try to be there by 7.

The Shamrock (west Douglas) is our starting point on the Thursday Night Pub Pedal.

Post BBQ Notes…
Thanks to everyone at the Shamrock. The food was great and was much appreciated.
