Erick 2nd Surgery Updates

12-19-08:
Post Surgery Update- I talked to Erick’s Mother this morning and she informed me Erick’s surgery went ok and he is recovering. Even better news is that things weren’t as bad as they had anticipated. The tumors that were removed weren’t cancerous or at least not the killer cancer that he was dealing with earlier.

12-18-08:
I know a lot of us have been wondering what the latest is with our friend and fellow Coaster Erick. I’ve just received an e-mail from him and he is going back in for surgery today. If you’d like to know more please e-mail me randy@locojoe.com and I’ll forward it to you.
Here’s just a snippet of what Erick had to say…

I’d also like to thank my uncle and my bicycle group for helping us out. Not only did they raise some very need money to help us out, I’ve been given rides to events and had lots of help doing bicycle stuff. I totally love this group of people. Coasters Bicycle Club Rocks!!! Please visit them at www.coastersbicycleclub.com.
I’ve also had lots of requests for people who want to donate to us and I’ve yet to find a way to do that with out messing up my taxes etc. But, I do have a photography store on-line where you can view and purchase my photographs.
www.elisephoto.zenfolio.com is where my images have been set up to purchase. I’m not saying you have to buy anything, but if you are needing something for your walls and want to make sure the money goes to where it’s needed, this is a suggestion.

I think I can speak for the whole group when I say you are in our thoughts and/or prayers Erick.

Bicycle Bob

You may have seen “Bicycle Bob” around town.
From ncbeat.com Wichita’s lifestyle and entertainment magazine…

also known as Bicycle Bob – because of his backyard collection of bicycles. He says he has about 75 in all, many are tucked away in his garage and shed. Dozens of bikes are lined up beneath a tarp, ready to be ridden, repaired or salvaged for parts. His current ride, a red Schwinn Le Tour, is decked out with a U.S. Postal Service mail bin to hold whatever he might need on a trip around town.

Wichita To Get New Bike Path

From www.wichitagov.org

“The Midtown bike path will run more than one mile, from the intersection of Central and Wichita Streets, north along Wichita Street to 9th Street, and then northeast in the former Union Pacific Railroad Corridor to 15th near Broadway. The $1.35 million project will provide a 10-foot wide bicycle path with decorative entrance arches at both 8th and 15th Streets, and a plaza with clock tower and drinking fountain in Otis Park at 13th and Market. More than 300 trees and shrubs will be planted along the path. Minor storm sewer work will also occur at various points along the path.”
