Are You Riding A Bicycle Illegally?
KSN.com story on bicycle licenses…
The city says a license helps protect a bike if it?s lost or stolen, helps with identification if a rider is in an accident and provides money for new bike trails and maintenance.
And if a rider is caught without one of the yellow tags, they could be out more than the license itself costs. Instead of paying just $7.50, they would pay a $10 ticket plus $66 in court costs ? an expense Davenport and Severson would like to avoid.

Adam And Sarah
Last night we had a new couple join us. Adam and Sarah came all the way from Seattle to ride Wichita’s Thursday Night Pub Pedal. Well ok maybe they had another reason to be here in town but while here they bought a couple of bikes at a thrift store and spent the evening riding and swapping bike stories with us. How cool is that?!
We now have proof that Seattle is not just a mythical place where no one drives cars, bikes grow on trees and everyone is a bicycle messenger by trade and plays bicycle polo on their days off. They were drinking something other than espresso so that myth is busted.
Funny story on the little bike they purchased. A couple of Coasters recognized it from an estate sale. Must not have sold and ended up at the DAV.
Thanks for joining us Adam and Sarah. Hope you had a nice time and get your monies worth out of your bikes.
3rd Annual Shamrock Cook-Out 09-03-09
Thursday night September 3rd Dave and the folks at the Shamrock Lounge are having their annual BBQ/Cook-out just for the Thursday Night Bike Bunch.
Also Dave has chosen a theme for this night. To coincide with Labor Day come dressed in uniform or attire that represents your dream job. Your “dream job” might be a career you aspired to pursue as a child but didn’t or maybe it’s your current job (lucky you!).
Come hungry, in costume and try to be there by 7:00pm. Bring a side dish or desert if you like.
