From the Bicycle X-change…
The City of Wichita is holding a ribbon cutting ceremony to open our newest bike path on May 27th at 10:30 am. BXC has been requested to donate a bike for the special event. It will be an essay contest for local area teens. (On bicycles, more info to come) These would be evaluated and the teen with the best paper would be awarded the bike. BXC will present the bike to the teen at the ceremony.
We are asking for the cycling community to be at the event and ride through the ribbon cutting and help open up the new path! Lets make this a GREAT EVENT! So spreed the word!
There will be other activities at the event including a bike ride through the new park. Area bike clubs & Bike-Walk Alliance will be there and the city plans to provide refreshments and will have comments by several dignitaries including Vice Mayor Lavonta Williams, the local City Council member of that district.
